Until now, collagen has been obtained from animal tissues. In Karisma, on the other hand, we deal with collagen, which is the same as human, but produced by genetic engineering by silkworm butterflies – this is the result of over forty years of scientists’ work. Generally speaking, they replaced the sericin gene, which is one of the two proteins that make up the silk thread, with the type I collagen gene.
